Upgraded from a cheap detector after reading about photoelectric being better for house fires. This one definitely seems more sensitive to actual smoke vs steam or cooking fumes.. Batery life indicator is a nice touch

The detection works great- caught a small grease fire last month. However, I wish it had smart home integration or wifi alerts to my phone when Im not home.
